Free Rotate Image – how it works
Rotate Image corrects the orientation of a photo or graphic without re-uploading to any server. If a portrait shot from your phone is displaying sideways, or a scanned document came in upside-down, this tool fixes the orientation in a single click.
The rotation is lossless for PNG, WebP, and AVIF outputs — pixel values are transposed without recompression. For JPEG output, the image is decoded and re-encoded, which applies the selected quality setting. Choose PNG output if you need a bit-perfect orientation correction with no quality loss.
The tool can also rotate a batch of images at once, outputting each corrected file in the selected format.
How to use Rotate Image online
- Upload your image. Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, or AVIF image into the tool, or click to browse. Multiple images can be added for batch rotation.
- Choose the rotation angle. Select 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise (270°). Use the live preview to confirm the new orientation before converting.

Known limitations
- JPEG output re-encodes the image at the selected quality, which is not perfectly lossless. Use PNG output for lossless rotation.
- EXIF orientation metadata is applied at decode time and then cleared in the output — the visual rotation is embedded in the pixel data.
- Animated GIFs cannot be rotated by this tool; use the GIF tools for animated files.
